St. Andrew's Church, located at the heart of the Town Centre, seeks to make an impact on the life of the spiritual, economic and artistic life of our town and welcomes visitors most warmly.
The church is the only church in the world with two sets of bells hung for Changing Ringing (the English way).  There are five bells in the tower at the west end of the church and eight in the spire at the north east end.  It is not possible to ring both sets together because they are in different keys!

St. Andrews Church was largely rebuilt by William Butterfield, the eminent Victorian Architect
and re-consecrated in 1879 thus celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2004.
